A training session was held in Collinsville, IL for any planning & zoning commissioner on October 29, 2024. An overview of essential planning tools such as enabling acts, comprehensive plans, land use controls, and the role of the planning commissioner. After these topics were discussed, a roundtable discussion with three experienced Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Chairs covered practices for running effective meetings, navigating controversy, and adhering to APA ethical principles.
