Stitching It Together: A Framework Plan for Brighton Park and Gage Park

Strategic PlanĀ

“Stitching It Together” provides a unified framework for the City of Chicago, partner agencies, elected officials, community organizations and residents to coalesce around key priorities for Brighton Park and Gage Park on Chicago’s Southwest Side. “Stitching It Together” engaged creatively, overcoming language barriers and other challenges, to center community voices and build consensus around a set of goals aimed at positioning these communities for future success. With more than 50% youth engagement, and several engagement sessions conducted predominantly in Spanish, “Stitching It Together” has redefined how the Department of Planning and Development engages Latine communities on the South and West sides. The final plan has been endorsed by sister agencies, local alderpeople and community organizations alike, and was unanimously adopted by Chicago Plan Commission in June 2025.
