The Chicago Metro Section Executive Committee had an unexpected vacancy and put out a call to fill the Secretary position. We are pleased to share that this vacancy has been filled and introduce our new Secretary, Amina Awad.
Amina has a background in design consulting and civic research and is a Planning Technician with the Village of Northfield. In her planning role, she is currently focused on shepherding redevelopment projects and moving economic development efforts forward. Amina is dedicated to the work of bringing differing interests and views to the table—whether from residents or developers, elected officials or property owners—in order to bring about lasting positive sum value and a sense of place for the community as a whole. She looks forward to contributing that same perspective to the work of the Chicago Metro Section in the coming year.
Amina Awad is honored to serve as the Secretary of the Chicago Metro Section, and to support the APA community of northeastern Illinois. In accordance with Section bylaws, this vacancy was filled by a vote of the Chicago Metro Section Executive Committee.
