Speakers:

Gisla Augustin, Founder/CEO of GiGi the Planner, is a native of South Florida, where she currently resides in the City of West Park. She is an alumni of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design with a minor in Geographic Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the age of 21. Gisla is deemed one of the 100 most outstanding women in the history of FAU and was included in a book, Legacymakers: 100 Women of Distinction at Florida Atlantic University.

Currently Gisla works at the City of Pompano Beach as a planner. Outside of work, she is very active in the community and abroad. She is a board member of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the APA Florida Chapter. Gisla serves as the Chair of both the Planning and Zoning Board, and the Education Advisory Committee, for the City of West Park. She also serves on the City of West Park Youth Council Advisory Committee. In an effort to give back to the community she and her two sisters have begun a math tutoring program for school-age children called GB 3 Literati. In her free time, Gisla enjoys reading, crocheting, performing the piano with her family musical ensemble, BG Harmonies, and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.

Keith R. Sbiral, AICP, ICMA-CM, CPC, ELI-MP is a certified career development and career transitions coach with Apochromatik.  Keith helps professionals conquer their career and career transition challenges, as well as goal achievement, time management, long-term career development, and executive presence.  He has nearly two decades of experience in municipal government, including most recently serving as City Manager for a Chicago suburb.  He earned his M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa and his B.A. from Luther College.  Keith is an avid photographer and traveler and often works with those in creative fields on goals or blocks related to creative pursuits.  His career advice has been featured in media including Fast Company,  Forbes, Glassdoor, and Monster.

Emily A. Egan, AICP is originally from Michigan and received a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Grand Valley State University. After moving to Chicago she earned her master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her work has centered on community driven economic development, placemaking initiatives, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and long-range zoning and planning projects.

Emily is Chair of the APA-IL Membership Committee, on the Municipal Design Review Network Committee, and a Woman in Planning and Development board alumna. She enjoys cycling and learning the drums. She currently works at the City of Elmhurst, IL.
