The Resurgence of APA-IL's Emerging Planners: Join Us for a New Beginning!

APA-IL is excited to announce the reboot of the Emerging Professional Planners group! The EPP is a dynamic community for individuals who are embarking on their urban planning journey, entering the Illinois planning sphere, exploring career transitions, pursuing studies, or have recently graduated. This vibrant collective is your passport to connecting with fellow emerging planners, fostering your professional growth, and expanding your network.

Our goal is simple - connect planners to planners. The EPP will offer opportunities for professional development, networking, and the chance to flourish in a supportive environment specifically crafted for emerging planners like you.

Introducing your Emerging Professional Planners leaders:

Jacque Henrikson, AICP is a transportation planner and project manager at Civiltech Engineering with about a decade of experience assisting numerous communities around the Chicago region in formulating their goals and visions for transportation. Jacque has a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing and Journalism from Knox College and a Master's Degree from UIC's College of Urban Planning and Public Policy.

Roya Nassirpour (she/her) is a passionate planner interested in improving quality of life for all people safely and equitably. She is currently employed at MUSE Community + Design and previously worked as an Intern and Project Specialist at the City of Champaign Planning and Development Department. Roya has a Bachelor’s and Master's Degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.
