Stites Township Park District

Brooklyn, IL

The APA-IL Pro Bono Services Program will provide assistance to the Stites Township Park District to kick-start planning efforts to redevelop/renovate an existing building, formerly a skating rink, to  be used as a Community Center.

The Program will partner with Stites Township Park District to implement a public engagement plan, which will provide the basis for conceptual development plans around the community's consensus for desired site improvements, resources/uses, and programming. The Program will develop the conceptual plans, provide a preliminary cost estimation, and provide a roadmap of tasks for continued planning efforts. These efforts will assist Stites Township Park District with budgeting and fundraising, and provide planning support for a future Illinois Department of Natural Resource (IDNR) PARC grant application.

Calumet City, IL

The APA-IL Pro Bono Services Program will work with the City of Calumet City to kick-start planning efforts for the First Ward. The goal of the Program will be to provide a community visioning event for the First Ward to serve as the foundation for future planning efforts. Outcomes of the visioning event will provide the basis for community consensus going forward, functioning as a roadmap for future projects and initiatives.
