Jeff Brady, Director of Community Development, Village of Glenview, IL

Jeff Brady is the Director of Community Development for the Village of Glenview, Illinois, and is responsible for the planning, inspectional services and engineering operations of a dynamic and financially strong community with a wide variety of beautiful neighborhoods, active commercial districts, and exceptional schools and parks. Mr. Brady promotes economic development, crafts policies that create iconic developments, ensures building regulations are upheld, and implements a $30M annual capital improvement program consistent with the Village’s goal to make life better for its 48,000 residents and over 1,300 businesses.

Gerardo Garcia, Deputy Commissioner, City of Chicago, IL

Gerardo Garcia is Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development. He is an experienced urbanist with a history of working in city government. Dep. Comm. Garcia has a diverse background in helping achieve the city’s economic development goals at the intersection of policy and urban design, and leads a range of efforts from citywide policy development to the management of large infrastructure projects. He is skilled in working with community leaders, elected officials and diverse stakeholders to promote and implement successful projects.

John Law, AICP, PLA, LEED AP, Assistant Commissioner, City of Chicago, IL

John Law is an urban designer with over 15 years of experience in the private design sector. His work in Chicago and around the world has focused on creating thriving and sustainable urban places, emphasizing the role that design plays in building strong, equitable communities. John recently joined the Chicago Department of Planning and Design as an Assistant Commissioner, to help lead the city’s various design excellence initiatives.
