Alsip, IL Holds Plan Commissioner Training on September 24, 2025

On September 24, 2025, the Village of Alsip hosted a commissioner training session. Members from the Plan Commission, Mayor Ryan, several Village Trustees and municipal staff attended the session.  Discussion was held on topics such as the roles and responsibilities of the commissioners and the Chair, the important of establishing findings of fact in accordance with the local Zoning Ordinance standards for Zoning Map amendments, variations and special uses, conflicts of interest, and other various best practices and procedures for the legislative process for zoning matters. The training session was presented by Mike Schwarz, AICP, Director of Community and Economic Development for the Village of Frankfort, and Megan Mack, Partner with Ancel Glink.
