From Empty Bowls to Full Plates: APA-CMS Planners Feed Children and Their Networking Needs on 3/6/24

The Chicago Metro Section of the American Planning Association - Illinois Chapter (APA-CMS) donned their hair nets on Wednesday, March 6th, for a night of giving back and connecting. Fifteen urban planners volunteered for the noble task of filling empty bellies at the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) facility in Schaumburg. The group spent an afternoon not only nourishing hungry bodies but also raising $150 for FMSC!

After a fulfilling session packing nutrient-rich meals, the planners fueled their own networking needs with a post-event gathering at City Works.

This event wasn't just about zoning regulations and building permits. It was about making a difference in the lives of children around the world. It's a reminder that building a better city goes beyond bricks and mortar – it's about building a community.

A huge thank you to Tom Farace, AICP, Village of Carol Stream, for organizing the event!
